Salla Eckhardt is a Finnish-American architect who has built an international career as a technologist in the AECO industry. She is the founder of the digital building lifecycle framework and is passionately interested in the better future of our built environment. Working hands-on in different key stakeholder roles for the past 20+ years, Salla has accumulated a deep understanding of why the built environment industry needs to digitally transform (Industry 4.0), and how we might do it together (Industry 5.0).

Salla’s approach to transformation is based on accumulating reliable data for building digitally first and then creating the physical twin. She believes that by clustering verified information we can level up our knowledge and mold organizational wisdom that in the long run affects our next generations of smart environments. By taking the digital building lifecycle approach we might mitigate our future digital debt, just like we can manage our foreseeable deep renovation debt today.
